Porter Exchange Mall

Porter Exchange Mall involved the complete renovation of a historic Sears Building located on Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The design of the project included retail shopping on two levels, several restaurants, below grade movie theaters and office space on the upper four floors. The architectural detailing used art deco and classical components drawing form the original design elements of the existing building. The urban nature of the site required the construction operations to function in a constrictive environment with limited access for materials and workmen. The project team included Notter, Feingold, Alexander Architects and Marshall Construction Company.
